Jon Burton

B.S. Arch – Lawrence Technical University

M. Arch – University of California, Los Angeles

After studying architecture at LTU in his home state of Michigan and a semester of study abroad in Paris, Jon decided to go west. He made his move to Los Angeles in 2006; the following decade was spent developing skills in architectural practice at some of the city’s most prestigious firms while continually failing at surfing.

During this time, Jon also obtained his Masters’ degree at UCLA where he concentrated on the inefficiencies of the construction industry when compared to manufacturing technologies, specifically the formal capability of the process filament winding. This interest in the hybridization of architectural design and production methodologies is the basis at which he applies a critical perspective to the realities of architectural practice while striving to create meaningful experiences through the built environment.
